From Abergavenny / Pontypool / Cwmbran Take A4042(T) towards Newport. At Police Headquarters (Croesyceiliog, Cwmbran) turn left at roundabout onto B4236 sign posted Ponthir and Caerleon. After Ponthir, continue along the B4236 over the railway line past industrial buildings and Spar garage on the left; climb up rise and sharp left down over railway line to mini-roundabout. Carry on straight over mini-roundabout, follow one way system around sharp right hand bend alongside a high stone wall, climb up the brow and turn right by the Hanbury Arms back into the centre of Caerleon. Continue through the narrow street and just past "The Olde Bull Inn" on your right, turn into the public car park. We are next to the public car park, an old stone building.
From Cardiff / Swansea / Caerphilly & Valleys M4 eastbound and exit at J26 just before Brynglas Tunnels. Drop down off motorway in right hand lane to roundabout and follow signs to Caerleon. Carry along Malpas Road (A4051) until you reach the Heidenheim roundabout (with flyover). Take right hand lane and go virtually all the way around. Just before the traffic lights, bear off left to the turning for Caerleon, which goes up to the flyover and dual carriage way (Heidenheim Drive - A4042T). Continue along the dual carriage way until the roundabout then take the right hand exit to Caerleon. Stay in the left hand lane and take the next turning off (again sign posted Caerleon). At the roundabout take the first exit off (B4596) which will take you into Caerleon (approx 2 1/2 miles). Go over the stone river bridge, bear sharp right in front of the ESSO garage, through the traffic lights in front of the Hanbury Arms and follow the road bearing left into the one way system. From Chepstow / Bristol / Gloucester M4 westbound and exit at J24 (Coldra Roundabout). Take A48, sign posted Newprt, for approx 1/2 a mile then turn right just before "The Royal Oak" (Mr Toby public house) onto B4236. Climb up the hill over the motorway and follow the road round to the right and then take the sharp left hand bend down the hill (steep). Follow the road until the junction in front of "The Ship inn". Turn right into Caerleon. Go over the stone river bridge, bear sharp right in front of the ESSO garage, through the traffic lights in front of the Hanbury Arms and follow the road bearing left into the one way system.
